The Beach Strip (Secteur Touristique)
Agadir's main beach runs 10km along a sheltered Atlantic bay — one of the longest city beaches in Africa. The northern section (Secteur Touristique, along Boulevard Mohammed V) is lined with beach resorts, cafés, and sunbeds. The water is calm and warm year-round (18–22°C), with gentle waves ideal for swimming and paddling. The beach is cleaned daily and is significantly quieter than European resorts.
Best Time to Visit for Beach
Agadir has over 300 days of sunshine per year. Peak beach season is June–September (26–30°C). Spring (March–May) and autumn (October–November) are quieter and pleasant (20–25°C). Winters are surprisingly warm (18–22°C) — many Europeans visit Agadir specifically in December–February to escape the cold. Beach hotels are up to 40% cheaper in low season.
Beyond the Beach — Things to Do
